Why should I Register?
Betting on Horse Races (Pari-mutuel) is legal in 43 states in USA. The Federal law dictates that any one participating in Pari-mutuel activity must be of legal age. To comply with this requirement, you must provide us a document bearing your date of birth. Since Pari-mutuel wagering is not legal in all states, we are required to confirm your place of residence to ensure that you are living in a state where betting on horse racing is legal. The treasury department dictates that all winnings of $599 and over must be reported to the treasury and all winnings of over $5000, is subject to withholding tax. In order to comply with these requirements, we need to have your social security number on file.
All online wagering company, including MTPBets, operate under Account Deposit Wagering (ADW) license from at least one of the state in USA. THE ADW license incorporates the federal, state and treasury requirements into its conditions of compliance. By registering, you are providing us with the necessary information so that both parties can conduct the betting legally.
Registration Process: Go to the Sign up page and complete the all boxes:
- Your personal information: Enter your name, address, state, postal code and your phone numbers. Your Address is important to ensure that you are living in a state where betting on horse races is legal.
- Enter your e-mail address: This e-mail address must be working address as we will send you an e-mail immediately after completing the registration, giving you instructions for the next step.
- Enter your username and password: You will need your username and password to retrieve your Account Number and set up your PIN with us. You will need your username, account number and PIN every time you wish to login into the site. You also need to enter your mother’s maiden name and a security question. Your mother’s maiden name and secret question helps us identify you in case you forget your PIN and ask us to help you reset it.
- Enter your Social Security Number: This is required to report or file withheld taxes on your winnings
- Enter information from your driver license: We need this information to ensure that you are of legal age and that the address you provided corresponds with the address on your driver license. We use third party to validate this information. We can assure you that this is not used to check your credit rating.
